Cutting-edge art from internationally acclaimed and emerging artists.

Rebeca Segura Rahme was born on September 15, 1977 in Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico. She currently lives in the city of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas in the south of the country. She studied at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla with a degree in Graphic Design and at the same time she did a Certificate in Painting at said University.

In her career as a visual artist she has had the opportunity to meet and learn from great masters such as Germán Montalvo, Rolf Seul, Carlos Arias, Akio Hanafuji Ueda, Daniel Ruanova, Melly Barragán, Magali Lara, among others.

Rebeca has progressed from figurative painting to abstract expressionism and is captivated with the nuances and textures that feed her work, creating a unique seal of energy within each painting.

At the beginning of Rebeca’s artistic career, she painted exactly what her eyes saw. Today, she paints what her soul feels. Her work is formed by layers and like life itself, each piece is an experience with distinct taste, colour, and texture, similar to how our souls lie in each experience.

Rebeca is captivated by documenting time through the use of collage and abstraction. She concentrates on expressing the radiography of our contemporary world while fusing it with ancestral wisdom that is inspired with Celtic symbols, Latin phrases, or poems written in Tzotzil.

All of these ideas are mixed with materials such as such as mirrors, paper, natural resins, and woven wool; resulting in work that is loaded with energy and embodies concepts from years past as well as the present day.
